I'm so grateful to share that I was recently featured in Voyage Minnesota, in their series highlighting local practitioners and small business owners. Being asked to tell my story out loud felt like a full-circle moment — especially since finding my voice is a big part of what this work gave back to me.
If you'd like to read the whole conversation, I've linked it throughout this post. But here are the parts I most wanted to share.
Twenty years in the making
People sometimes assume sound healing came out of nowhere for me. It didn't. I spent 18 years as an oncology nurse, and across roughly two decades I kept quietly gravitating toward holistic health. I earned a Master's degree in Holistic Health, and I studied meditation and yoga in India. The pull was always there, even when I didn't have language for it yet.
What I saw at the bedside shaped everything: how deeply stress and grief live in the body, and how much healing asks for more than a prescription. You can read more about that path on my about page, but the short version is that caregiving taught me how much we all need care, too.
How Biofield Tuning found me
Before I landed on Biofield Tuning, I explored a lot — Reiki, nutrition, acupressure. Then, about two years ago, I met a Biofield Tuning practitioner and experienced it for myself. It's hard to overstate what happened next. The work created what I can only describe as permanent changes: it helped me heal my own burnout, rediscover joy in my relationships, and finally speak my truth.
I loved it so much that I trained and became certified. (Fun detail I shared with Voyage: the name "Tuned Into Healing" actually came to me while I was on the table getting a lymphatic massage. Sometimes clarity arrives when you finally slow down.) If you're curious how the modality actually works, I broke it down in tuning forks for healing and how it helps.
Biofield Tuning helped me heal burnout, find joy in my relationships, and speak my truth. Once I felt that, I couldn't not share it.
What Tuned Into Healing is today
Now I offer sound therapy using specialized tuning forks to help reset the nervous system and release trapped emotional stress. Sessions run about an hour, in person in Mendota Heights, Minnesota, or virtually via Zoom. My signature offering is the Burnout to Balance package — six sessions designed for healthcare workers, caregivers, and the compassionate over-givers who tend to put themselves last.
You can see all the ways to work together on my sessions and pricing page, but Burnout to Balance is the one closest to my heart, because it's the exact journey I walked myself.
The honest part I almost didn't say
Voyage asked about challenges, and I decided to be real. The logistics were hard — social media, email marketing, learning how to actually articulate what I do. But the deeper struggle was internal: putting myself out there meant risking rejection, and speaking my truth has never come easily to me. Building this business has been its own kind of healing, one uncomfortable, worth-it step at a time.
I think that's part of why clients trust me. I'm not teaching from a textbook. I'm sharing what genuinely moved me from surviving to actually living.
What I've learned about holding space
If there's one thing this journey has hammered home, it's this: I can't pour from an empty cup. To offer my clients a safe, calm, grounded presence, I have to practice even more self-care than I used to. That isn't indulgence — it's the whole job.
I need to do even more self care than I used to, so I can provide a safe, calm, and grounded space for my clients.
Curious what a session feels like?
If any part of my story resonates, I'd love to talk. Start with a free 30-minute exploratory call — no pressure, no pitch, just a real conversation about where you are.
